Information About Membership, Courses, and Sites

York County Senior College gives a new definition, a different perspective and an increasingly popular dimension to the traditional college. At YCSC you can participate in lifelong learning by enrolling in a variety of courses designed to fulfill your interests. Remember: No prerequisite, no tests, no homework, no grades, no papers to write, no stress. Just intellectually stimulating opportunities to learn -- and to enjoy the camaraderie inherent in small classes.

Classes from such diverse subjects as music, art, history, physical science, writing, culture, film, creative problem-solving, bridge, cooking, religions, baseball, and world problems—each of which has been offered in recent semesters. Classes are scheduled to begin on various dates. Most classes run once a week for 8 weeks, starting in September and March.

YCSC Membership (or other Maine Senior College membership) is required to register for classes. Our Membership year runs July 1 through June 30. It's renewal time if you haven't yet done so and it can be done via CourseStorm as you register for your class. Membership dues remain at $25.00 a year. YCSC Membership (or other Maine Senior College membership) is required to register for classes.

Members of YCSC are eligible to take classes at any of the 17 Maine Senior Colleges without paying additional membership dues; just pay the applicable course fees.

Please Note: You must be a member of Senior College to enroll in classes. Find information here or click on "CourseStorm" registration button below. Payment by credit card via CourseStorm is preferred. If you must pay by check, make it payable to YCSC, noting for whom and that it covers the annual membership fee. Gift Idea for a favorite Senior on your list?   Gift Certificates for York County Senior College classes may be purchased at University of Maine/Augusta, Saco Center, 4 Scamman St., Ste. #18, Saco, ME  04072.  Minimum amount $25.00.

Should classes be canceled on account of weather, notice will be given on WMTV (Ch. 8), WCSH (Ch. 6), and WGME (Ch. 13). A message may also be heard on YCSC answering machine (207-282-4030).

York County Senior College is pleased to announce our 2025 Gary Sullivan Lecure Series line-up. Classes will be presented online via Zoom and some in-person. Registration is done using CourseStorm, our totally online catalog & registration platform, and is accessed through our CourseStorm link listed below. 
 
YCSC Membership (or other Maine Senior College membership) is required to register for classes. If you haven't already renewed, it can be done via CourseStorm as you register for a class.  Membership dues remain at $25.00 a year.  Our Membership year runs July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. Online registration is preferred with payment via credit card.  For members of YCSC, course scholarships may be made available by contacting Chairperson Jane Carlson.
