Gary Sullivan Memorial Lecture Series: Each winter, York County Senior College enlivens the doldrums with a series of lectures spanning January, February and March. The Lecture's title commemorates the former University College director who played an important role in our founding. View the 2025 Lecture Series schedule here and register via CourseStorm here. Lectures are typically given via ZOOM.- At the 2025 Annual Meeting on May 22nd, YCSC Co-Chair Jane Carlson announced that the Council has made a decision to do a serious review and reorganization. The review is in process and as a result the Council has decided to not collect dues for the coming year. All present members of YCSC will have their membership automatically extended. More information will be available in the fall. There will be a fall semester of classes. You will receive information on the fall classes as well as any further developments about the future of YCSC as we resolve issues and make plans. If anyone wishes to help, your assistance is welcome. Please contact Jane via email: homeoverlook@yahoo.com or call the YCSC phone line at 207-282-4030.
"Weather - or not?" - For any inperson lectures -- winter can bring much snow and cause the unfortunate cancellation of one or more lecture days! Should any of our classes be canceled on account of weather, notice will be given on WMTV (Ch. 8), WCSH (Ch. 6) and WGME (Ch. 13). A message may also be heard on YCSC answering machine (282-4030).
Spring Annual Meeting: Each year our York County Senior College activities culminate with a member luncheon at a conveniently located banquet hall. Included in the days program is the election of Officers and Council members for the upcoming year, and a presentation by a special guest speaker. The cost of this luncheon meeting is included in the annual dues. Non-members cannot be accomodated.
